In The Car, an embedded digital-first platform that enables OEMs and dealerships to provide insurance policies directly to consumers,  announced a data integration with Cox Automotive’s Opentrack dealer management system APIs. The integration is designed to provide benefits for mutual dealer customers of In The Car and Cox Automotive’s Dealertrack.

With In The Car's application integrated with Cox’s Opentrack DMS API, dealers can quickly provide customers a customized insurance policy. The new digital tool combines data collected by Dealertrack during the sales process with its data on the customer’s driving record, prior insurance claims, other household vehicles and drivers and more. The result is an insurance policy on a fast turnaround.

“For dealers, a policy in hand means they can complete the deal and move on to the next sale,” said In The Car President and CEO Matthew Edmonds. “For customers, it means getting competitively priced insurance on the spot without having to call their agent or shop around online.”

In the Car says multiple surveys have shown that about 80% of car buyers would prefer purchasing, financing and insuring to be an all-in-one customer experience.
